Position: Part-time Project Coordinator, Canadian Mesothelioma Health Network (FTE 0.5)

About Us:  The Canadian Mesothelioma Foundation is a registered charity focused on building awareness about the dangers of asbestos exposure and supporting mesothelioma patients and their families and caregivers.  Mesothelioma is a terrible cancer, which is almost exclusively caused by exposure to asbestos.  Asbestos-related diseases are the number one cause of work place deaths in Canada.  Even though asbestos is now banned in Canada, over 500 new cases a year are diagnosed here, and that number is expected to continue to climb.

The project coordinator will contact identified experts in mesothelioma in Canada and work with the Scientific Advisory Committee to bring them together to form a network. The goal of developing this network of mesothelioma expertise is to improve access to the best mesothelioma treatment and care possible across Canada.  The project coordinator will facilitate the sharing of mesothelioma expertise, current research in the field and best clinical care practices, as well as coordinate the development of educational and training modules for front-line, health-care workers.  The coordinator will also help develop and implement measures to track the impact of this network on access to care.
