The College of Social and Applied Human Sciences (CSAHS) contributes strongly to the University of Guelph’s reputation as a leading, research-intensive university. Research within the College reflects a broad spectrum of theoretical perspectives and methodologies across five disciplines, and cultivates a multi-disciplinary environment through 5 research themes: Environment & Resources, Globalization & Diversity, Health & Well-Being, Public Policy & Governance and Work & Organization. The Knowledge Mobilization Coordinator (KMC) will develop and implement knowledge mobilization and translation strategies for the College. The KMC will be housed within the Institute for Community Engaged Scholarship, but will support a broad definition and view of research, scholarship and mobilization to include community based research, general engagement and more traditional knowledge translation to meet the requirements of a wide range of scholars and audiences. The KMC will bring considerable interpersonal and relationship building skills to meet in success in current College directions as well as new initiatives. The KMC will develop and support: KM training, education and networking activities for students, faculty and the community: knowledge mobilization and research partnerships, including identifying and marketing CSAHS’s research to audiences and supporting the reception and review and matching of inquiries for research partnerships: new communication strategies, systems and materials for project, centre/institute and college specific purposes. Applicants should have a master’s degree in social sciences, health or a related field and a minimum of 3 years in a knowledge management, knowledge translation, community development or government policy position or an equivalent of education and experience. Excellent communication skills (oral, written and web-based) are required. Direct experience planning and delivering communication strategies, in project management and web development, in working with stakeholders at multiple levels, in communication with multiple audiences and in developing and delivering workshops is required.
