Reporting to the Manager and Director of the Centre for Studies in Aging and Health (CSAH) the Knowledge Broker, provides support to activities and projects in aging in Southeastern Ontario and beyond. The Knowledge Broker aims to develop relationships and networks with and among producers and users of knowledge by providing linkages, knowledge sources and knowledge itself to networks and organizations. The Knowledge Broker functions in multiple roles: develops networks, as an intermediary to facilitate the use of evidence; someone who bridges the gap between research and practitioners and stakeholders, functioning as a ‘change agent’ for linking researchers and research users.
Role Responsibilities
- Collect, collate and synthesize research and experiential evidence for use in a variety of contexts
- Facilitate sharing of successful strategies and ideas across network stakeholders and related partners in order to assist in the development of new initiatives and or ideas
- Share and distribute knowledge and reliable data across organizational boundaries to mobilize research into practice
- Support collaborations and partnerships within and across clinical, research, and policy worlds to improve the generation and use of evidence by leveraging the power of these partnerships
- Facilitate in-person and online opportunities for dialogue amongst stakeholders
- Anticipate emerging trends and respond with appropriate products and learning opportunities
- Enter, retrieve and download data to generate a variety of reports; monitors and reports trends for various indicators
