The Child Health Evaluative Sciences (CHES) Program is seeking an exceptional scientist with expertise in the areas of qualitative methodology, child and youth mental health, and child health outcomes, who is interested in exploiting the unique research environment provided by Canada’s largest Paediatric hospital-based research institute. The position is allied with the Community Health Systems Research Group, nested within the Child Health Evaluative Sciences program of the Research Institute. CHES’s mission is to ensure the highest quality child and family-centred clinical research is performed by the researchers at SickKids. Our aim is to improve the welfare of children by basing health care decisions on the best possible evidence.
Individuals with an independent research program and who employ and develop cutting edge qualitative and mixed methodologies to achieve this goal are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to candidates with an interest and experience in a) qualitative and mixed methods research methodology, notably around child mental health, b) the application of innovative knowledge translation methods and/or implementation science, and c) evidence of collaboration with community, clinicians and scientists. The candidates must have a proven record of achievement in peer-reviewed publications, independent and collaborative research funding, teaching, and graduate student supervision.
The successful candidates for this research position must have a PhD degree with an outstanding post-doctoral record (or equivalent) of research productivity. They will be expected to establish links to ongoing research endeavors within the Hospital, to maintain an externally funded research program, and to hold an academic appointment in the School of Graduate Studies at the University of Toronto. CHSRG scientists are affiliated with Psychiatry at SickKids, and with the Division of Child and Youth Mental Health, Department of Psychiatry, University of Toronto.

Salary Range: $100,000 – $150,000
